If the person has collapsed or stopped breathing, call 911.
Poison in the eyes
Remove contact lenses if present.
Rinse the eyes with lukewarm running water for 15 to 20 minutes. Have the victim blink as much as possible. Do not force the eyes open.

Poison on the skin
Take off any substance that the person may have touched.
Rinse the skin with lukewarm running water for 15-20 minutes.

Inhaled poison
Immediately get the person to fresh air.
If the person is not arousable or not breathing CALL 911 and begin CPR.
If the person is coughing, gagging, short of breath or having difficulty breathing CALL 911.
If indoors, open all doors and windows.

Swallowed the wrong medicine or too much medicine
If the person is not arousable or not breathing CALL 911 and begin CPR.
Call the Poison Center at 1-800-222-1222.
The treatment for an ingested poison varies depending on the poison. Call for advice.

Antidote labels may be wrong. Do not give salt, vinegar, citrus juice or induce vomiting unless instructed to do so by the Poison Control Center.
Snake bite
Do not attempt to catch or kill the snake.
Slowly back away from the snake.
Transport the person to a hospital. Lay the person flat and keep the bitten part of the body at the level of the rest of the body. Do not elevate or dangle a bitten arm or leg.
Do not attempt to cut the bite area.
Do not suck the bitten area.
Do not apply ice to the bitten area.
Do not apply a tourniquet.
Call 1-800-222-1222. The Poison Control Center can notify the hospital that the patient is coming and provide treatment advice.
Suicide attempt
If the person is not arousable or not breathing CALL 911 and begin CPR.
CALL 911 and have the person taken to a hospital. Even if the person is refusing medical care, it is very important that they be evaluated. Explain to them that they need medical evaluation even if they feel fine.
