Office of Communications and Marketing

The Office of Communications and Marketing is the Medical Center’s institutional connection to audience groups within UMMC, across Mississippi and beyond. Through strategic communications and promotion initiatives, our office tells the Medical Center’s story through print and electronic publications, advertising, creative content and digital communications, including social media.

The office serves as the primary connection to the news media and facilitates all interactions with UMMC experts.

In addition, C&M provides a variety of services to the Medical Center community, including creative design services, marketing strategies, publicity for noteworthy activities, tours and event planning.

Our office can be reached by phone Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at (601) 984-1100, or by email at communications@umc.edu.

Our office is located on the first floor of the Holmes Learning Resources Center, across from the Office of the Vice Chancellor. The closest public parking lot to our office is in Lot D across from the Nelson Student Union, next to the School of Pharmacy. Walk through the School of Medicine, and we are right inside the LRC to the left.

Media guidelines and resources

Members of the professional news media who need assistance covering Medical Center activities or events or would like a UMMC expert to participate in a story should contact Patrice Guilfoyle, director of communications, at (601) 984-2841 or pguilfoyle@umc.edu.

All members of the media who visit any UMMC location must be accompanied by an escort from the Office of Communications and Marketing.
