Radiation Safety for Laboratories | ||
Radiation Safety Course description: Mandatory course for Principal Investigators who are involved in the use of radioactive isotopes. The course proper safety techniques, PPE and dosimetry use, inventory requirements, waste disposal and how to handle and report a spill or exposure. Along with the online course, the Principal Investigator must be trained by an UMMC Authorized Radioactive Material User. | ||

Device Specific Training | ||
Radiation Safety Course description: Mandatory course for Principal Investigators who are involved in the use of Ionizing Radiation Generating Devices. The PI must obtain documented in-person device specific training along with in-person use training by the Radiation Safety Department, including but not limited to PPE use, device use area management, ALARA and dosimetry. | ||
