The course proper safety techniques, PPE and dosimetry use, inventory requirements, waste disposal and how to handle and report a spill or exposure. Along with the online course, the Principal Investigator must be trained by an UMMC Authorized Radioactive Material User. |
Radiation Safety Course description: Mandatory course for Principal Investigators who are involved in the use of Ionizing Radiation Generating Devices. The PI must obtain documented in-person device specific training along with in-person use training by the Radiation Safety Department, including but not limited to PPE use, device use area management, ALARA and dosimetry. |
