Employee Assistance Program and Work-Life Services

Now more than ever, do not forget about the free and confidential services that are offered to you and members of your household for helping manage life’s challenges and maintain a happy and well-balanced life! UMMC provides Humana EAP and Work-Life Services at no cost to you or members of your household. If you require additional counseling or services beyond what is covered by the Employee Assistance Program, there may be additional costs.

What services are available through EAP and Work-Life Services?

  • Short-term in-person, telephonic, and/or video-based counseling for issues such as relationships, workplace challenges, grief and loss, parenting, stress, anxiety, depression, addictions, etc.
    • Up to three (3) in-person sessions per concern per year.
    • Assessment and referral for longer-term issues
  • Work-Life services that offer research and referrals for services and resources that help with child care, adult care, and everyday needs like education, adoption, moving, home repairs, pet care, travel, etc.
  • Free 30-minute consultations with attorneys and financial professionals with 25% off additional legal and tax preparation services, if needed. Covered issues include credit and debt, divorce, child custody, tax issues, adoption, landlord-tenant disputes, wills and trusts, estate planning, real estate, ID theft, etc. Online tools, including wills, calculators, and more.
  • Online services – articles, webinars, videos, and podcasts, financial calculators, self-assessments, quizzes, legal forms, guided custom searches for local Work-Life providers, tools for managers.

Licensed professional counselors are available to speak with you 24/7 to help address your issues and guide you to appropriate resources, so call anytime.

What about confidentiality?

Humana EAP professionals are bound by confidentiality laws and professional ethics. Services offered at off-site locations for more privacy. Personal information about participants and their household members remains confidential according to all applicable state and federal laws unless disclosure is required by such laws. Confidentiality exceptions are “Duty to Warn” cases such as serious threats to health or safety of self or others and suspected child or elder abuse.
