Mississippi Center for Heart Research

Co-Directed by Drs. Romain Harmancey, Michael Hall and Yingjie Chen, the Mississippi Center for Heart Research is dedicated to performing cardiovascular research that involves:

  • Developing multidimensional approaches to examine the mechanisms whereby the cardiovascular system responds to injury or stress;
  • Applying the knowledge gained to develop diagnostic tools and therapeutic strategies to prevent, slow, or reverse cardiovascular disease progression;
  • Disseminating our results to scientific, medical and general communities; and
  • Educating the next generation of scientists.

The Mississippi Center for Heart Research meets biweekly at 4 p.m. Mondays to discuss ongoing projects and plan future experiments. If you are interested in attending these heart research focus group sessions, email Dr. Romain Harmancey.
