Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery and Pathology

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons care for patients with problem wisdom teeth, facial pain, and misaligned jaws. They treat accident victims suffering facial injuries, place dental implants, care for patients with oral cancer, tumors and cysts of the jaws, and perform facial cosmetic surgery.

The oral-maxillofacial surgery residency program currently has a 48-month duration certificate program and a 72-month dual degree program. It is designed to complete the requirements of the Commission on Dental Accreditation for an approved advanced educational program in oral and maxillofacial surgery. One resident is accepted into each program every year.
