Multidisciplinary Threat Assessment Team

A threat assessment is typically initiated when there is a concern or suspicion regarding a potential threat to the safety and security of individuals or the UMMC community. The process begins with the identification of concerning behaviors, statements, or incidents that may indicate a risk of harm. This information is often reported to the appropriate authorities, such as the UMMC Multidisciplinary Threat Assessment Team or the UMMC Police Department. Upon receiving the report, the team conducts a thorough assessment that involves gathering information from various sources, including interviews with relevant individuals and review of available records or documentation. The team then evaluates the credibility, severity, and imminence of the threat to determine the appropriate level of intervention. This may include implementing safety measures, providing support or resources to individuals involved, and collaborating with law enforcement if necessary. Throughout the process, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring the well-being of all parties involved is a priority.
