Captain Lucian Roy Price III

Captain Price, who has more than 27 years of law enforcement, higher education public safety and military experience, is an administrative captain at the UMMC Police and Public Safety Department.  

He began his career as a security officer at UMMC in 2004. Just four years later, he was recognized as the department’s Police Officer of the Year. He has also served as a patrolman, field training officer, patrol supervisor, recruiting and retention officer, chief firearms instructor and chief investigator in the criminal investigation’s division. He also conducts security assessments, security presentations for students and staff, oversees special events and the Student Safety Advisory Board.

Price is a graduate of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy’s Certified Investigator Program and the Mississippi Law Enforcement Command College. 

Prior to beginning his career in law enforcement, Price served as a non-commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1997-2005, receiving the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. 

Price, who holds an associate’s degree from Hinds Community College, lives in Clinton with his family.
