UMMC 2030 Strategic Plan
As Mississippi's sole academic medical center, the University of Mississippi Medical Center carries a profound responsibility. We are entrusted with educating and training the state's future health professionals, advancing medical research and innovation and delivering comprehensive, high-quality care to all Mississippians.
To fulfill this mission and address the evolving health needs of our state, UMMC has developed a comprehensive institutional strategic plan. This plan outlines five enduring strategic priorities that will guide our efforts from fiscal year 2026 to 2030:
- Maximize value in quality of care
- Promote clinical access, efficiency and growth
- Cultivate a vibrant academic community
- Foster excellence in research
- Optimize institutional service areas
These strategic priorities will remain constant throughout the five-year period. Each fiscal year, we will establish specific, measurable goals aligned with each priority. These annual goals serve as foundational steps toward long-term progress and are evaluated and refined annually to ensure continued advancement.
The UMMC 2030 strategic plan officially launched on July 1, 2025. A detailed overview booklet outlining the five strategic priorities and their corresponding goals for the first year and a year-two update booklet reflecting ongoing progress and future objectives are available below.
