Neurotrauma care offered by the University of Mississippi Medical Center neurology and neurosurgery departments consists of nationally recognized experts in all areas of neurological trauma.
Specialists at the state’s only Level 1 trauma center provide comprehensive, leading-edge medical and surgical management for patients with traumatic brain or spinal cord injuries and/or peripheral nerve trauma. According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, about 1.7 million Americans experience a traumatic brain injury (TBI) each year, and 250,000 to 400,000 people in the United States live with spinal cord injuries or dysfunctions.
