Referring Physicians
UMMC welcomes physician referrals and offers several ways to initiate the process. And, you can always learn more about services available to referring physicians from the Office of Physician Relations.

Electronic
Epic to Epic
Organizations that use the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system can place referrals directly in Epic. For instructions or more information, please reach out to your Epic support team.
uView
uView is an online portal that connects providers and other health professionals to the UMMC Epic EMR through a secure remote internet connection. Health professionals enrolled in uView can request referrals, place orders and access medical records.

EMR to EMR
If your organization does not use EPIC and you would prefer not to use uView, you may wish to consider integrating your EMR with Epic at UMMC for direct electronic referrals. To inquire, please email emr2emr@umc.edu or have your technical support person reach out to us.

Physician Referral Line
To speak directly with one of our physicians, referring physicians may call our dedicated physician-to-physician phone line: 866-UMC-DOCS (866-862-3627).
Pediatric Referrals
All electronic referral options are available for pediatric patients.
For referrals by phone, physicians or their staff can call 855-984-KIDS to refer a patient for:
- Clinic appointments for all locations
- Emergency or critical care transfer
- Hospital admission
Physician Referral Line Hours:
8 a.m. - 5 p.m. CST, Monday-Friday
For emergent pediatric referrals, call 888-UMC-2345. Specialized pediatric ground transport and AirCare air transport are available.
