Neurophysiology
The University of Mississippi Medical Center’s neurophysiology program provides comprehensive neurodiagnostic procedures to evaluate functions of the nervous system.
Our laboratory offers routine and specialized neurophysiological procedures, several of which are not available elsewhere in the region. These tests help referring physicians diagnose suspected neurological disease or dysfunction. Services also include neurophysiological monitoring during brain, spinal cord, and nerve surgeries.
Neurophysiology technicians all hold national certification as registered electroencephalography technologists. In addition, many are certified in other areas of specialty, including neurophysiological intraoperative monitoring, long-term monitoring, nerve conduction studies, and evoked potentials.
