Building and sustaining a diverse health care workforce is essential to ensuring a rich and fully empowered health system. Our Medical Center is positioned to maximize health services throughout the state, in order to meet the needs of the underserved and eliminate health and health care disparities.
By using our workforce as a vessel for ensuring that quality is the No. 1 priority, we are able to uphold our values by including all from different backgrounds and varying perspectives in decision-making processes. The Office of Diversity and Inclusion supports the clinical mission of the medical center through promotion of initiatives geared toward health equity and partnering with internal and external stakeholders involved in efforts for building competencies of staff in treating populations we serve.
The Healthcare Equality Index sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign is offering over 60 different online training options on a variety of topics ranging from the basic of LGBTQ Patient-Centered Care to more specialized topics for clinicians.
