Education and Outreach


The Children’s Transport Teams routinely provide education and training in the resuscitation and care of neonate and pediatric patients. This training is available and appropriate for both pre-hospital and in-hospital providers.

Some of the opportunities include S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); the STORK Program teaching how to recognizing and managing obstetric and neonatal emergencies; and the PARTNER Conference training providers in pediatric, newborn and neonatal resuscitation and emergency care. These education offerings are available to providers across Mississippi.

Training involves state-of-the-art pediatric, newborn and preemie simulators that feature:

  • Life-like feel and tone
  • Vocal sounds and displays cyanosis
  • Heart and lung sounds
  • Right main-stem intubation
  • Oral and nasal intubation
  • OG/NG tube insertion
  • UAC/UVC placement
  • PIV placement in 3 sites
  • Chest compressions/PPV
  • Simulation of a 25-week gestation, 750-gram baby
