Core A – Administrative, Mentoring and Education Core

At the top of the pentagon is mentorship, and, going clockwise throughout the shape are education, collaboration, Research (Major and Pilot), and Technology (Core B, Core C).The Administration, Education, and MentoringCore will be charged with promoting the mission of the MCHD which is to facilitate the use of innovative molecular physiology approaches to study health, onset and progression of disease, and interaction with pathogens, with the goal of understanding the breadth of information from the molecular level to the whole organism.” Core A will provideadministrative support and coordinate all activities of the MCHD, develop and implement education and mentoring programs, facilitate the pilot grant program, interface with University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) administration, Office of Sponsored Programs, investigators of the MCHD, collaborate with other IDeA supported programs (COBRE, INBRE, and IDeA-CTR), and interface with the NIGMS.
