Freshman Early Entry (FEE) - Traditional BSN

Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree

Are you a college freshman interested in pursuing a career in one of the fastest-growing and most versatile fields in the job market? Would you like to avoid competing against hundreds of applicants for a spot in the highly competitive Traditional BSN program? If so, the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Nursing (UMMC SON) Freshman Early Entry (FEE) pathway on the Jackson campus is the right choice for you.

UMMC students receive not only superior classroom training from educators who are leaders in their fields but also excellent clinical learning opportunities on the state's only academic health sciences campus. The Medical Center provides nursing students with rich clinical experiences at four major hospitals, including the state's only children's hospital.

Early acceptance to nationally ranked nursing school

The SON’s FEE pathway provides an entry into the baccalaureate nursing program as a college freshman rather than as a junior. This pathway provides opportunities to engage in professional and personal relationships with the SON faculty and upperclassmen immediately upon entering college. Likewise, FEE students avoid the competitive selection process for admission into the Traditional BSN program after completing the pre-nursing curriculum. Peace of mind comes with knowing that upon completing the prerequisites, as long as pathway requirements are maintained, you will have a guaranteed spot in the Traditional BSN program. Note: The FEE program is only offered for the Traditional BSN on the UMMC campus.
