Rowland Medical Library Interlibrary Loan Department can provide copies of journal articles/book chapters owned by the library for students who meet the distance education student qualification. To receive the Library’s services, distance education students must be currently enrolled in one of UMMC's online academic programs.
Please complete the Verification Form below each semester to qualify for these services. There is a charge of $3.00 per article/chapter in the library’s collection for the first 20 pages and .15 cents for each additional page.
Once verified, students can use the UMMC Distance Education Photocopy Request Form to request materials. When a request is received a staff member will contact you regarding payment information. All payments must be made by credit card.
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.
Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If user makes a request for, or later uses a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "Fair Use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the request would involve violation of copyright law.
