Trucking for Kids Annual Truck Driving Competition

Trucking for Kids is a Truck Driving Championship competition hosted by Walmart Transportation Office DC 6011, Walmart Stores in Market 140, Sam’s Club 8271 and 4790, Trucking Associations, and the Mississippi Braves, with support from local trucking companies: Fedex, Old Dominion, Total Trucking of Mississippi, Yellow Freight, H&P Leasing and the Mississippi Trucking Association. Proceeds from the event benefit Batson Children’s Hospital, the state’s only hospital dedicated to helping sick and injured children. Join us for this fun event by registering below.

The Trucking for Kids Competition will be held at Trustmark Park (1 Braves Blvd Pearl, MS) on Saturday, October 24, 2020.

  • Competition starts at 9 a.m.
  • Day-of registration cuts off at 10 a.m.

About the Competition

Each contestant must maneuver through six obstacles safely and can score up to 300 points. There will be a minimum and maximum time to complete the course. Each contestant will be scored on points per obstacle and time will be used as a tie breaker. A participant may compete in multiple classes providing they meet the eligibility requirements and pay the entry fee for each class in which they participate.

Competition Classes

  • 5-axle Day Cab Truck (CDL Holders Only) - $75 entry fee
  • 5-axle Sleeper Truck (CDL Holders Only)  - $75 entry fee
  • 5-axle Flatbed Truck (CDL Holders Only) - $75 entry fee
  • 3-axle Day Cab Truck (CDL Holders Only) - $75 entry fee
  • Step Vans- $50 entry fee – Participants must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license
  • Golf carts - $25 entry fee

Participants must be 16 years old and hold a valid driver’s license to compete as a single competitor. The minimum age to compete is 12 years old, and participants must be accompanied by a law enforcement officer.

Prizes

First place winners in the truck and step van classes will win a flat screen television. The first, second, and third place competitor in each class will receive a trophy. The store that brings the most competitors will receive a team trophy, and will hold that trophy for one year (for bragging rights) as Grand Supreme Champions for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
