Passy-Muir Speaking Valve

PASSY-MUIR VALVE (PMV) PLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

1. Suction prior to PMV placement
2. Wash PMV with warm water prior to placement
3. Pt cannot wear PMV while napping or sleeping
4. Remove PMV immediately with any signs of distress

PMV CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Swish PMV in pure, fragrance-free soap and warm (not hot)
2. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
3. Allow to air dry thoroughly before placing in the storage
4. Do not apply heat to dry the PMV
5. DO NOT use hot water, peroxide, bleach, vinegar, alcohol, brushes or Q-tips to clean the PMV
