About ENT

Ear, nose, and throat (ENT) services treat diseases and disorders of the ears, nose, sinuses, larynx (voice box), mouth, and throat, as well as structures of the neck and face. Otolaryngology and its allied services provide care for a wide range of disorders, including balance, smell and taste, voice, and head and neck oncology and surgery.

The UMMC difference

  • Our ENT physicians (otolaryngologists) are board-certified; many are fellowship trained in the diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment of ENT disorders.
  • We have an extensive staff of specialty nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and specialists in voice, swallowing, speech, and hearing.
  • As educators of future physicians and as Mississippi's only academic medical center, we lead the way with new techniques and technologies.
  • We take a multidisciplinary approach to care, bringing together caregivers from different specialties into a team. This approach allows us to give each patient more complete, personalized care that can lead to improved outcomes.
