Instructions for the Self Healing Wound
- Our dressing should remain in place for 48 hours and be kept dry.
- Remove the dressing after 48 hours and clean the wound once or twice daily with soap and water.
- With a clean applicator, spread a generous layer of Polysporin ointment inside the wound.
- Cover wound with a loose bandage using Band-Aid or Telfa (nonstick pad) and paper tape. You may have some drainage from the wound. This is normal but if drainage becomes yellow, green or foul smelling, notify our office.
- Avoid aspirin and aspirin containing products (Bufferin and BC powders, for example). Take plain Tylenol if needed for discomfort.
