Brittany Vice joined the UMMC School of Nursing this past fall as the project manager for marketing and recruitment for the school. She started right in the middle of fall recruitment and we are excited she chose to join us!

Vice graduated from Belhaven University with a major in Sports Administration and a minor in Business Management. She has worked in varied areas including health insurance, PT clinic management, and software support. Previously, she worked for the National Children's Study until the site closed down in 2012. She rejoined UMMC in 2020 at enrollment management before coming here last year. Vice knew she wanted to rejoin UMMC and enjoys working for an employer with a greater impact.

When asked about her favorite part of working at the School of Nursing, she stated being able to encourage people to pursue their dreams and goals of being a nurse. "I have always been an encourager by nature," Vice explained. "[I] enjoy hearing why people choose to pursue nursing. Many people know their 'why' when choosing an education path and/or career but need encouragement and help with the 'how.'"

A native of Hueytown, Alabama outside of Birmingham, Vice has split her life between her home state and Mississippi. She is married to her husband of 14 years 'JJ' and has two 'extremely strong willed, independent kids' Wyatt (10) and Scarlett (4). Rounding out the family is an unstable cat named Donut and a rescue dog affectionately referred to as Roscoe Sauce. Her hobbies include spending time with family and seeing her kids experience new adventures, foods, sights, and places. She loves coffee and prefers to support local small coffee businesses. She also enjoys bargain shopping, anything Dolly Parton, food/cooking, and baking - but refuses to measure anything.

Her favorite quote is, “We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love." by Dr. Seuss.
