
Smith makes sure help’s on the way
As an emergency dispatcher for UMMC Police and Public Safety, Nancy Smith takes calls for a 12-hour stretch and sends officers depending on the situation, be it a threat of violence or to simply help a patient or visitor in need. It’s a job she loves, and a job where her experience and people skills can make all the difference in keeping the campus safe.
