Discovery U High School Programs

Discovery U High School is designed to give local high school students the opportunity to observe and learn about biomedical research and the extensive career opportunities for individuals with advanced science degrees.

Currently, the School of Graduate Studies in the Health Sciences has a partnership with Clinton High School and aims to seek future collaborations with other local area high schools. 

Discovery U with Clinton High School 2025

The spring of 2025 was a successful term for the Discovery U program and Clinton High School! Seven Clinton High students traveled to UMMC one day a week during the spring to observe research conducted in UMMC laboratories. They learned about the role of a biomedical research scientist and the extensive career opportunities available in biomedical research. We thank both Clinton High School and our research mentors for their participation!
