Welcome From the Program Director

Welcome to the University of Mississippi Medical Center Department of Radiology's Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency Program. As physicians at UMMC, which is host to the state's only children's hospital and a dedicated cancer center, we serve a large diverse population of patients from all across our region.campbell.jpg

Our group is composed of six full-time interventional radiologists. In addition to our main campus where we serve the University Hospital, including adult, pediatric, women and infant facilities, we operate an outpatient clinic.

Our interventional radiology team covers the affiliated Veteran's Affairs hospital and we are proud to announce the opening of a state of the art interventional radiology department in the University Cardiovascular Center in late 2020.

The IR Independent Residency offers advanced interventional radiology training to board-eligible graduates of a diagnostic radiology residency program certified by the ACGME or equivalent entity. Training is provided in interventional radiology procedures and peri-procedural care, complemented by interventional radiology-related clinical and imaging rotations and medical intensive care. The course of training is two years; however, advanced placement into the second year of training is allowed with the completion of a valid early specialization in interventional radiology (ESIR) certificate obtained during the diagnostic radiology residency."
