Areas of expertise and research methods

Rat and mouse models: Long-term cardiovascular and metabolic studies in rats and mice chronically instrumented; 24-hr/day studies of cardiovascular, renal and metabolic functions including oxygen consumption, motor activity, energy expenditure, food intake, etc., in rats and mice; imaging methods including Echocardiography for studying cardiac function and Echo MRI for studying whole body lean and fat mass; renal function including chronic glomerular filtration rate and creatinine clearance; acute and chronic intracerebroventricular infusion; permanent coronary ligation (myocardial infarction) in rats and mice; nerve recording (aortic depressor nerve and renal  sympathetic nerve activity); histology, morphometric analyses, immunohistochemistry, and molecular biology methods for studying target organ injury.
