May highlights brain, bladder and cutaneous cancers

In 2025, many people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with brain, nervous system and bladder cancers, which differ in how common they are and how they develop. According to the National Cancer Institute, approximately 24,820 people will be diagnosed with brain or central nervous system cancers. Bladder cancer is the sixth most common cancer in the country, with an estimated 84,870 new cases and about 17,420 deaths expected in 2025.

Melanoma is a more aggressive type of skin cancer that is more likely to spread to nearby tissues and other parts of the body than more common forms. An estimated 104,960 people will be diagnosed with melanoma in 2025, and about 8,430 are expected to die from it, according to the National Cancer Institute’s SEER Program.
