My Approach to Healthcare

I am a physician-scientist and practicing endocrinologist at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. My research focuses on the cardiometabolic complications caused by abnormal levels of sex steroids, particularly androgens in women, which I have studied for the last 20 years. I lead a research team studying different therapeutic options to effectively and safely treat the cardiometabolic complications found in women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). I blend my research knowledge with the latest discoveries in my clinic to provide the best medical care. When patients come to my clinic, I make sure they feel comfortable, heard, and cared for in the best and most compassionate way possible. I have a holistic approach to treating the disease and all the psychological turmoil that comes with that disease. My main goal is to alleviate the fear, anguish, confusion, and sometimes anger accompanying an endocrine disorder diagnosis. I am living my calling; being a physician-scientist is an honor and privilege I carry in my heart.
