Main ContentCall for Art: UMMC Conference Center

The UMMC Division of Continuing Health Professional Education (CHPE) is seeking works of art, in all mediums, for donation or loan, to be displayed in the UMMC Conference Center at the Jackson Medical Mall.
About the project
We are asking all members of the UMMC community— past and present students, faculty, staff, alumni—to consider giving art.
- Works can be pieces you have created yourself or purchased.
- All art mediums are welcome: painting, sculpture, quilting, embroidery, wood carving, calligraphy, photography, mixed media, pottery, folk art, and others.
- Art can be donated or loaned (for a minimum of three years).
- Submissions will be accepted from Oct. 15, 2019- Jan. 15, 2020.
A committee of professional staff from Facilities Services and CHPE will review all submissions and make final selections. The collection will go on display in early 2020.
About the venue
UMMC Conference Center contains a 500-seat theater, three conference rooms, a concourse, a business center, and a grand hall. It is available to UMMC and non-commercial community organizations for health education activities. Thousands of patrons visit the UMMC Conference Center every year.
Each area in the Conference Center is named in honor of a Mississippi artist. Pieces in the new collection from our UMMC family will complement our celebration of Mississippi’s artists, and enrich the experiences of those who attend events at the Conference Center.
How to submit art
To submit a piece of art, please complete the form below and upload a picture of the piece you are submitting. If you are submitting more than one piece, complete a separate form for each piece.
If you have questions about the project, please send email to callforart@umc.edu.
