Division of Trauma and Critical Care Surgery

The Division of Trauma and Critical Care Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center is the clinical and academic leader of Mississippi’s ACS-verified Level I trauma system. As the state’s only tertiary trauma referral center for adults and children, we care for more than 6,000 trauma patients annually, perform over 350 burn surgeries, and provide more than 2,000 operative procedures each year.

Our division delivers comprehensive, high-acuity surgical care through nationally recognized trauma, burn, and critical care programs. Working in partnership with AirCare, the Mississippi Burn Center, Children’s of Mississippi, and our statewide emergency response networks, we ensure timely, expert care for the most severely injured patients.
