Faculty in the Department of Preventive Medicine conduct research focused on describing factors that predict good health or disease, and on identifying effect approaches for promoting health and preventing disease.
Much of our research is focused on prevention of chronic diseases, including obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and cognitive decline. Other interest areas include mental health, health of people with disabilities, and geographic factors in health.
