Division of Asthma, Allergy, and Clinical Immunology

The Division of Allergy, Asthma & Clinical Immunology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center offers rapid clinic services for all referrals for the diagnosis and treatment of rhinitis, asthma, chronic cough, urticaria (hives) and angioedema (swelling), immunodeficiencies (increased or chronic infections).  We offer specialized diagnostic testing including allergy skin testing, drug, food and other allergen challenges, patch testing for contact dermatitis, aspirin desensitization and pulmonary function testing. Allergen immunotherapy appointments are provided on a regular schedule. Physicians in the division see both adult and pediatric patients, and all have joint faculty appointments in the departments of Medicine and Pediatrics.

UMMC allergists and immunologists are board-certified in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies, asthma, and other diseases of the immune system. Whether the goal is fast relief for occasional allergy symptoms or a comprehensive, long-term treatment plan, our team of experts provides personalized care for each patient's particular needs.

Welcome from Our Division Director

The Division of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology in the Department of Medicine is committed to all three aspects of the academic mission of our department and institution – research and scholarship, education and patient care. All faculty members are engaged in various aspects of all three parts of the academic mission. Our scholarly activity is wide and diverse in the area of allergy, asthma and immunology. Research foci include assessment of psychological dysfunction as a component of the pathophysiology of various allergic and immune diseases such as asthma and chronic allergic skin diseases. Opportunities exist for investigation in all aspects of the translational research spectrum from bench assessment of biomarkers to clinical trials to population epidemiology-based studies.
