Doctor of Physical Therapy Admission Requirements

Entry level program

To be eligible for admission, candidates must have the following:

  • Evidence of 40 hours observation in at least two physical therapy clinical departments or practices, obtained in the year of application
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
  • An overall minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants accepted usually have a higher than minimum grade point average.
  • A minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for required courses
  • A minimum grade of C in each required course
  • At least 5 of the 8 required courses must be completed by the end of the fall semester in which the application is submitted. Applicants accepted for admission must successfully complete all prerequisite courses by the end of the subsequent spring semester, with final grades documented by the official transcript.
  • An official report of Graduate Record Examination Scores.
  • All application and support documents (including resume, essay, and transcripts) completed and submitted to the Office of Student Records and Registrar by the admissions deadline.
