Since its early years, when it was the Department of Anatomy, the UMMC Department of Advanced Biomedical Education has lengthened its name and its reach. Among its many new responsibilities is to serve as an academic home for faculty whose primary job is teaching. But, despite its formal-sounding title, it continues to foster personal bonds with members of the public through one of the Medical Center’s best-known programs.
