Dr. Shou-Ching Tang, MD, PhD, FACP, FRCPC, is currently the Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology/Toxicology, Associate Cancer Institute Director for Clinical and Translational Research at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He earned his MD degree with honors from West China University of Medical Sciences and a PhD degree in molecular biology from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He completed a rotating internship and internal medicine residency in Edmonton and medical oncology fellowship at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Tang is an experienced clinician scientist and administrator. His primary interests include breast cancer patient care, clinical trials and drug development, translational research for biomarker development, drug resistance, immunotherapy and targeted therapy. He has chaired and participated many national and international clinical trials in these areas. He has served on many national and international research and cooperative group committees, including SWOG, ECOG, USO, BCIRG and SABCS. He has developed and led hematology/oncology departments, cancer center or programs at multiple academic institutions in Canada and USA including University of Miami, Mayo Clinic, University of Colorado and Augusta University. Dr. Tang serves as Associate Editor and as editorial board member on multiple national and international journals with over one hundred publications.
