Following completion of Medical School and Radiology Residency in India, leading to certification equivalent to American Board of Radiology(ABR), I moved to USA. I continued my specialty training in radiology by completing two ACGME accredited fellowships. One in Interventional Radiology and the other in Abdominal Radiology and became dual (Indian and American) Board certificationI joined UMC an Assistant Professor in 2009, and at present I am sections chief in Interventional Radiology and Vascular Radiology. Besides being involved in Radiology residents and Medical Students education, I have initiated and expanded scope of newer techniques for diagnosis and treatment such as radial artery catheterization and radioactive microsphere embolization for liver tumors.I play an active role as an integral participant in the team for evaluation and treatment of the complex problems of the transplant patients in addition to go person for various subspecialties.UMMC is the main center in the state for Liver transplant candidates. I am actively involved with the gastroenterology division in rendering varieties of complex treatments for cancers and Variceal related GI bleeding in a sick patient. One of my main emphasis is to convert not transplantable candidate with Liver cancer into transplantable, via reducing tumor burden.
