Biography: Dr. Sharma completed his MBBS at the esteemed University College of Medical Sciences in India. He embarked on a journey of continuous learning and specialization, completing his Neurology Residency and vascular neurology fellowship at SUNY Upstate University Hospital, followed by a Neurocritical care Fellowship and an Epilepsy Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Dr Sharma currently serves as the Assistant Professor of Neurology with a specialization in Epilepsy, Neurocritical Care, and Vascular Neurology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). As the Neurocritical Care Division Chief, he orchestrates the comprehensive management of critical neurological cases, leading a dedicated team to ensure the highest standards of care and patient outcomes.
Beyond his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Sharma imparts his knowledge through engaging educational talks, delivering lectures on stroke, epilepsy, and EEG methodologies to medical residents and colleagues alike.
Dr. Sharma has numerous journal articles and abstracts highlighting his contributions to the scientific community. His investigations delve into critical topics such as stroke incidents, traumatic brain injury management, and the impact of social determinants of health on neurological disorders.
Dr Sharma is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Heart Association, Neurocritical Care Society, and Society of Critical Care Medicine
