Biography: Shanda Sandridge is a pediatric nurse practitioner who has been working in the Department of Pediatrics as a nurse practitioner for 11 years. She began her medical career as a nurse in 2005. She graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and later the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a master's degree in 2010 specializing in Acute Care Pediatrics. Shanda worked in the neonatal intensive care unit and Pediatric Specialty clinic prior to completing her master's degree. Shanda works as a medical provider where she specializes in treating patients with Gl disorders and treats patients in the pediatric weight management clinic. She is currently a member of the Obesity Society, Obesity Medical Association, and Mississippi Nurses Association. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
My Approach to Healthcare
As a pediatric nurse practitioner in pediatric weight management my practice is very specialized. I absolutely love working with children and families and can not imagine working anywhere else. I am also very dedicated to helping the children in Mississippi meet their weight loss needs and am passionate about promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors in the pediatric population. I strive to provide evidence-based care to my patients so that I can give them the best care possible.
