Biography: Dr. Napodano is is originally born and raised from Rochester, New York. He earned his bachelor's in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester while playing 4 years of football. He then went on to earn his medical degree at American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Sint Maarten. Dr. Napodano then moved to Mississippi where he completed his Emergency Medicine residency and a Sports Medicine fellowship at UMMC. He stand on has faculty after graduating and currently serves as the associate program director for the primary care sports medicine fellowship while working in the Emergency Department. Dr. Napodano also serves as the team physician for Mississippi State Valley University and Jackson State University. In his free time he enjoys going to a variety of sporting events and spending time / traveling with his wife, Itzel and newborn baby boy, Rudy IV.
My Approach to Healthcare
My approach to healthcare is rooted in seeing each patient as a whole person and honoring the trust they place in me during some of their most vulnerable moments. Whether resuscitating a critically ill patient or guiding an athlete through return-to-play, I focus on listening first, aligning care with their goals, and prioritizing safety, dignity, and long-term health. I strive to create a welcoming, equitable environment where every patient feels heard and respected. In my teaching role, I emphasize learning through example, inviting trainees into real-time clinical reasoning and showing how to combine technical skill with empathy and professionalism at the bedside.
