Biography: I was born in PR and was always interested in Pediatrics. I completed my medical school at Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, PR and my Pediatric residency at Miami Children's Hospital in 1988. I joined the ARMY until 1990 as an adopted physician and worked in El Paso TX, North Carolina, Laurel in Maryland and the last 15 years in Ponce PR. I was the Pediatric Chairman of PSM medical School until 2013 when I moved to MS to work at UMMC. Here I take care of patients at the Ambulatory setting and also I am the Director for Course 651 for MS 4 at the same School of Medicine. I have 2 children (Agronomist /Entomologist and a Vet Ophthalmologist) and my husband is a pediatric Allergist here in town. I was involved with some changes in the Ambulatory Curriculum and also now during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I help implementing the Virtual clinical visits through telehealth and during real time visits in order to have them interact with real patients and to participate with patient care.
