Biography

Gustavo Luzardo, M.D., Director of the Endovascular Neurosurgery Fellowship Program and Director of UMMC's Neurosurgery Residency Training Program, is board-certified and dual-trained in open cerebrovascular surgery and endovascular surgery. He is a native of Maracaibo, Venezuela and received his medical degree from the Universidad Del Zulia. He completed a general surgery internship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and his neurosurgical residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Following residency, he went on to complete an endovascular fellowship at the same institution. Dr. Luzardo has extensive expertise in the treatment of cerebrovascular disease, cranial nerve disorders and skull base surgery. He is committed to providing patients with the highest quality of care and our residents with the highest level of training. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys spearfishing, kitesurfing and spending time with his family.
