Applicant Overview
The pediatrics residency program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center takes pride in training well-rounded pediatricians to care for children. The Department of Pediatrics maintains education as a priority despite a constantly changing world of medicine and technology.
We prepare graduates for a successful career through hands-on care of patients within every aspect of Children’s of Mississippi. Residents build a strong educational foundation by rotating through a variety of settings ranging from outpatient clinics to critical care. Faculty and staff encourage residents to engage in independent thinking, problem solving, and team work, which fosters an environment of lifelong learning.
Faculty are also fully invested in helping residents attain their own individual career goals through careful planning and mentorship. Explore our website to learn about patient care rotations, educational activities, research opportunities, and many other aspects of our program. If you have any questions regarding the application process or content on the website, feel free to reach out to any of our program leadership.
