PED 631 Junior Pediatrics. During this core clerkship, third-year students work as clerks on inpatient services of the Children's Hospital and in ambulatory settings. Ward rounds, conferences, and lectures are regularly scheduled. Emphasis is placed on developing the skill of each student in history-taking and the physical examination of infants and children, particularly those with disorders that are most commonly seen in this age group. In-Person Clinical 16 hours.
This is a required six week (200 clock hours) rotation in pediatrics where third year medical students will gain experience in general and subspecialty pediatrics in both the inpatient and ambulatory setting. In this rotation, students will develop skills in history-taking and physical examination of infants and children, particularly those with disorders that are most commonly seen in the pediatric population.
