2026 Anesthesiology Residency and Fellowship Matches

We are thrilled to have successfully matched ten incoming PGY-1 interns and also fellows for the pain, pediatric, and cardiac fellowships who will all be starting in our department in July!

For our residency program, our department had over 650 applications for ten PGY-1 positions, and approximately eighty of those applicants were interviewed. The fellowship programs also had wonderful interview seasons. Fellowship candidates interviewed virtually again this year but the residency has transitioned back to primarily interviewing in person. We were able to recruit top candidates from across the country and are very excited to welcome all our new residents and fellows into the department.

The incoming residency class comes from diverse and accomplished backgrounds and will no doubt contribute in many different ways to our department. Our incoming class of PGY-1 residents includes Drs. Anna Breland, Frances Case, Kamaria Dansby, Henry Elsenpeter, Xavier Langston, Gracie Little, Anna McCoy, Elise McMinn, Lauren Muller, and Nicky Rugnath. Four of these PGY-1s are from University of Mississippi Medical School.

Incoming fellows include Dr. Vinay Khare (cardiac anesthesia); Dr. Dulci Anuel Martinez (pediatric anesthesia); and Drs. Luke Burnham, Kyle Kennedy, Sathyadev Kikkeri, Jeffrey Dyer Smith, and Charles Carruth (off cycle/started this past January).

Congratulations to all, and welcome to the UMMC anesthesiology family!
