How to Register in the Body Donation Program
The University of Mississippi Medical Center is grateful to those who are interested in donating their body, after death, to medical science. The Body Donation Program of the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomical Science Department, functioning under Mississippi law, is responsible for the procurement, use and disposition of the remains donated to the Medical Center.
To make an anatomical gift, anyone who is 18 years of age or older and of sound mind may give his or her body.
UMMC Body Donation Program requires pre-registration by completing the Authorization for Body Donation and Pre-Registration form. The form must be properly signed in the presence of two witnesses. Upon receipt and review of the completed forms, with 45 days you will be notified of your acceptance into the program by an acknowledgement letter, a body donation ID card and a copy of your authorization form.
- The Body Donation Program reserves the rights to accept or decline anatomical gifts.
