Pediatric speech language therapist joins UMMC faculty

Medical Center leadership is proud to announce the following addition to its faculty and leadership staff.

Kristine Beattie, a seasoned pediatric speech language therapist for Therapy Management Corporation, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an instructor in otolaryngology and communicative sciences.

After receiving her B.S. in speech language pathology from the Mississippi University for Women in 2007, Beattie earned her M.S. in speech language pathology at the University of Southern Mississippi in 2009. She has served as a speech language therapist for the last 12 years, including stints with MidSouth Rehabilitation, Inc. from 2009-10; Diane Morse and Associates, LLC in 2010; the Madison County School District from 2010-18; Children’s Therapy Center from 2018-19; and Therapy Management Corporation from 2019-21.

An active member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Mississippi Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Beattie’s competencies include pediatric feeding disorders, augmentative/alternate communication, receptive/expressive language disorders, neurological/cognitive disabilities, childhood apraxia of speech, articulation, phonological processing and early intervention.
