UAB surgery faculty to talk balloon occlusion, aorta
JansenDr. Jan Jansen, associate professor of surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will give the Department of Surgery Grand Rounds presentation, "Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta: Implementation and Evaluation," from 8-9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, in room CW106 of the Classroom Wing.

Physiology faculty to focus on preeclampsia's unanswered questions

Preventive medicine faculty to talk prostate cancer implications
EspinozaDr. Ingrid Espinoza, associate professor of preventive medicine, will give the Population Health Grand Rounds presentation, "Hypoxia Associated Genes on Disparities in the Aggressiveness of Prostate Cancer: Population Health Implications," from noon-1 p.m. on Monday, July 16, in the fourth-floor conference room of the Guyton Research Center.

School of Medicine to host health disparities conference
Clinical and translational researchers from UMMC, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Tulane University will host the Delta Clinical and Translational Science Health Disparities Conference from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19, in the medical education building.
The event will include keynote speakers from each institution, a poster session and a networking session. There is no registration fee, and all UMMC faculty, staff, postdocs and students are invited.
