Emergency med, neurosurgery ranks swell with new faculty

The Medical Center is proud to announce the following additions to its faculty and leadership staff.
Amit Anil Kumar Pandit, M.D.
Dr. Amit Anil Kumar Pandit, recently a critical care medicine fellow at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York City, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of emergency medicine.
After receiving his M.D. from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, in 2009, Pandit had an emergency medicine residency from 2011-14 at the University of Virginia Health System, Charlottsville, followed by his critical care medicine fellowship. He was chief fellow of critical care medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering from 2015-16.
The author or coauthor of three chapters and one book review in leading scientific textbooks and publications, Pandit has given three presentations at scientific meetings nationwide.

Dr. Juan D. Uribe Villa, recently a fellow in functional and stereotactic neurosurgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of neurosurgery.
A 2006 graduate of the Universidad CES School of Medicine, Medellin, Colombia, Uribe Villa had residency training in neurosurgery at UMMC from 2009-16, as well as his functional and stereotactic neurosurgery fellowship. Licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure since 2015, Uribe Villa is an active member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
The author of one article in a peer-reviewed professional publication, Universidad CES, in 2006, he has given four scientific presentations at the Medical Center.
