Neurology, radiology faculty ranks grow with new additions

The Medical Center is proud to announce the following additions to its faculty and leadership staff:

Duaa Jabari, M.D.

Dr. Duaa Jabari, a recent neuromuscular medicine fellow at Kansas University, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of neurology.

After receiving his M.D. from the University of Tishreen, Syria, in 2004, Jabari had internal medicine training from 2004-05 and anatomical and clinical pathology training from 2005-08 at the University of Tishreen; a neurology residency from 2010-14 at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston; and a neuromuscular medicine fellowship from 2014-15 at Kansas University.

An active member of the American Academy of Neurology, Jabari has authored or coauthored five articles in peer-reviewed online publications, one journal article and six abstracts and poster presentations. His research interests include disease course and outcome in GBS and the diagnostic yield of muscle biopsy.


 

Erik D. Weiss, M.D.

Dr. Erik D. Weiss, a recent radiology resident at UMMC, has joined the Medical Center faculty as a fellow in body imaging.

After receiving his B.A. in history from Yale University (Timothy Dwight College), New Haven, Connecticut, in 1999, Weiss earned his M.D. at the Yale University School of Medicine in 2004. He earned his M.P.H. at the Yale School of Public Health in 2010. He is a fellow of Timothy Dwight College, Yale University.

Weiss was a general surgery intern from 2004-05 and a general surgery/urology resident from 2005-06 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston; a radiology resident from 2006-09, a nuclear medicine resident from 2010-11, and fellow/chief resident in nuclear medicine from 2011-12 at New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University Medical Center.

Weiss is the author or coauthor of 11 articles in peer-reviewed professional publications and abstracts.
