A couple of interesting events is scheduled for the upcoming week at the Medical Center.

Interim director to present Jackson Heart Study update

Dr. Adolfo Correa, interim director and contact principal investigator of the Jackson Heart Study, will present the physiology seminar, "The Jackson Heart Study: An Update," from noon-1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, in room CW308 of the Classroom Wing. MPB's 'Meet and Greet" to include Southern Remedy hosts
Mississippi Public Broadcasting will host a "Meet and Greet" event from 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, at the Mississippi Craft Center in Ridgeland.
Many of your favorite MPB personalities will be there, including UMMCers and hosts of Southern Remedy radio Dr. Debbie Minor, Dr. Rick deShazo, Dr. Jimmy Stewart and Dr. Michelle Owens.
Enjoy the food, drink and atmosphere while you mingle with some of the voices you hear every day.
On the horizon
UAB neurologist to discuss deep brain stimulation

Dr. Harrison C. Walker, associate professor of neurology and medical director for surgical movement disorders at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will present "Deep Brain Stimulation for Movement Disorders" from noon-1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, in room CW 308 of the Classroom Wing.
All Medical Center faculty, staff and students are invited. Lunch will be available to the first 100 in attendance.
